2021 Scott Contessa Signature Collection hits road, gravel, flowing singletrack & enduro

The 2021 Scott Contessa signature collection of women’s bikes has landed… but not in its entirety. We have; the Contessa Addict RC road bike, the Contessa Addict Gravel bike, the Contessa Spark RC cross-country bike, the Contessa Genius eRIDE and the Scott Contessa Ransom 910 enduro bike. There is one more bike yet to come. Let’s take a look at the Nitro Purple collection as is… then we can hypothesize as to what may be coming soon.

2021 Scott Contessa Addict RC & Gravel Bikes

The Addict RC 15 bike joins the Scott Contessa roster of women’s bikes for 2021. The HMX carbon disc brake frame is lightweight with a race-ready geometry. It is paired with the Addict RC HMX Fork and a carbon Syncros wheelset with 28c tires from Schwalbe.

\"female

Gearing is served up by Shimano with a Di2 Ultegra 22-speed electronic shift group with 11-30T cassette. The complete build build weighs approximately 7.6 kg.

The Contessa Addict RC is available in sizes XXS47, XS49, S52, M54 and L56. Pick one up for £4,999.

With clearance for 35c tires, the Addict RC 15 Gravel bike takes the 2021 Scott Contessa Collection onto dirt. Though under the same naming convention as the Contessa Addict road bike, this carbon gravel frame has distinct off road tailored geometry.

The head angle is slacker at 70°-71° while the seat tube angle stays around the 73.5°-74.5° mark.

The 8.6 kg build (approx.) features a 22-speed Shimano GRX group, a Syncros RP2.0 wheelset with alloy rims and Shimano BR-RX400 disc brakes. Get one for £2549 in sizes XS49, S52, M54 and L56.

The XC whip(pet)

\"scott

Upping the ante is the Contessa Spark RC 900. This is a cross-country race machine for women that want to ride fast, up and down the hill. With a 900 level spec list, this XC bike is high end and means business.

A full carbon HMX frame gets a RockShox SID Select+ fork at 110mm travel. Out back, 100mm of rear wheel travel is serviced by a RockShox Nude RL3 shock with TwinLoc.

TwinLoc is Scott’s suspension lockout remote technology that locks out the fork and shock simultaneously to create a solid platform for efficient climbing.

\"2021

The 2021 Scott Contessa Spark RC 900 bike rolls on a carbon 29″ wheelset from Syncros, with power delivered by a SRAM X01 Eagle 12-speed drivetrain. The build is finished with SRAM Level TLM Disc Brakes, Maxxis Rekon Race Kevlar Tires and carbon Syncros components.

Available in sizes small, medium and large, the women’s Spark retails at £6,099.

2021 Scott Contessa Ransom 910 Enduro Bike

The Ransom enduro bike makes a return to the Scott Contessa Collection for a second year. This is a meaty bike with aggressive geometry, built for riders at the top level of the Sport – World Enduro #8 Becky Cook, for example.

\"mountain

The 2021 Contessa Ransom offers 170mm suspension travel, front and rear, on a 29″ wheelset. Geometry remains unchanged from the 2019 and 2020 Ransom models. If it’s not broken…

That proven geometry is adjustable; ride it in a “low” or a “high” setting, depending on the terrain. Either way, the head angle is slack at 64.5°/65° and the seat angle is an effective 75°/75.5°.

\"170mm

The 2021 Scott Contessa Ransom is offered in sizes S, M & L, with reach figures spanning 406.3mm to 472mm.

Priced at £5,099, the Contessa Ransom doesn’t quite hit the top-level spec of the Tuned bikes. The women’s Ransom gets the (still, very respectable) 910 level spec. That gets you a carbon front triangle and alloy rear end, a Fox 38 Float Performance Elite fork and a Fox Nude TR EVOL shock with TwinLoc.

The eRIDE 910 e-MTB

\"scott

The 2021 Scott Contessa Signature Collection would surely be incomplete without the addition of an e-MTB. The Scott Genius eRide fills that space, with geometry and suspension travel class that slots in between the Spark XC bike and the Ransom enduro bike.

The Genius eRIDE rolls on a DH spec 29″ alloy wheelset in the form of the Syncros MD30. A Bosch Performance CX drive unit provides pedal assist to a Shimano XT 12 speed group.

\"2021

The alloy frame runs boost 148mm rear spacing, and runs 150mm rear wheel suspension paired with a 160mm fork. A Fox Float EVOL Performance shock and Fox 36 Rythm Air fork take care of this electrified full bouncer. As we’ve seen on the Spark and Ransom full suspension bikes, the Genius eRIDE also gets the remote TwinLoc lockout system.

For £4,649, pick up the Contessa Genius eRIDE in sizes S, M or L.

\"2021

Off-road, Scott are offering a complete head-to-toe collection of women’s mountain biking kit. The Vevo Plus and Stego Plus open face helmets take care of trail and enduro riding, respectively.

Soft goods include a Contessa Signature short sleeve and long sleeve jersey, Trail Pant and Shorts with liner.

BOA-fastening MTB shoes for women, Traction Gloves, Sunglasses and a Trail Protec Airflex backpack complete the collection for a full factory look.

\"scott

On the road, Scott offer a head-to-toe RC Lycra collection to pair with the 2021 Scott Contessa Addict bikes. Contessa bib-shorts, gravel shorts and short sleeve jerseys are available.

What’s missing?

There’s one more bike due to be added to the 2021 Scott Contessa Signature Collection of bikes for women. With the recent release of the stealth Scott Addict RC eRIDE, we reckon we could soon be seeing a Nitro Purple iteration. Check out Cory’s first ride review and weigh in of the new Scott e-road bike here.

\"2021
Might we see a Nitro Purple Addict RC eRIDE with women’s specific contact points soon?

Failing that, there is one bike that is yet to make it into the Scott Contessa lineup. That’s the Gambler downhill rig. Could 2021 see its debut in Scott’s collection of women’s bikes? We’ll have to wait and see.
