A pump track in Nepal is a good way to start posting then without an extended winter break. It’s good to be when too. Kathmandu has unchangingly been one of Claudio Caluori’s (Velosolutions founder) main goals for a Pump for Peace project. When he visited the municipality for the first time in December 2019, he had no idea that it would take 3 years to find the right place, partners or secure land and permits to build the pump track. However, this provided unbearable time to team up with Crankbrothers for the Red Shoe wayfarers which was going to facilitate the construction of this track. A track tropical to us is in Leavenworth.
Just well-nigh 3 kilometers from Durbur square, you’ll find the pump track.
Himalayan Single Track, Himali Riders Club and Switchback are local companies that worked with Velosolutions on the track. Crankbrothers pitched in with proceeds from the sale of red shoes. All in all, it sounds like a unconfined project that overcome obstacles to getting built too. What’s moreover going on is the UCI Pump Track World Championships will throne to Kathmandu this year for their first qualifier and will bring the first Nepalese riders to the World Championships in Argentina in November.
Yeah pump tracks.
