Passoni to auction a new Limited Edition 2020 Fidia Milano-Sanremo for Charity
● 100% of proceeds to be donated to charity to help purchase equipment for intensive care units in the local area
● Limited Edition 2020 Passoni Fidia Milano-Sanremo bike aiming to raise over £20,000
● New bike tailor-made for the highest bidder
Leading luxury Italian frame builder Passoni has launched a charity auction of a new Limited Edition 2020 Passoni Fidia Milano-Sanremo bike. The auction, which runs throughout April, is looking to raise over £20,000 for CESVI, helping to purchase equipment for intensive care units in Bergamo and to support the vulnerable.
Based in Lombardy, Passoni’s home is one of Italy’s hardest hit regions in this crisis with an extremely high number of people affected. Having initially planned to launch the new Limited Edition bike at La Classicissima – Milano-Sanremo – in March, Passoni postponed the launch with the race calendar put on pause. However, after much thought the team decided to take the opportunity to fundraise for those in the Servizio Sanitario Nazionale who are doing such an extraordinary job.
The renowned frame builder has decided to auction one of its new limited edition bikes and donate all the proceeds to a charity that is doing amazing things in the region. CESVI is one of Italy’s biggest humanitarian organisations, with 30 offices worldwide.
The donation will help them purchase equipment for the intensive care unit of Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo and support vulnerable over 65s in the Bergamo and Milan regions.
Monica Lucarelli, CEO of Passoni, said: “At our Atelier in Milano we have tried our best to keep production going but had to shut down operations a couple of weeks ago; clearly the impact to our business will not be insignificant. Nevertheless as a Benefit Company, at Passoni, we take our role in the community very seriously and our sustainable and charitable approach to how we do business will continue being the foundation of our ethos.”
The Limited Edition 2020 Passoni Fidia Milano-Sanremo features an intricately designed, custom carbon-titanium frame, a Columbus Futura carbon fork and Campagnolo’s Super Record 12s groupset paired with a THM x Passoni Clavicula SE 52/36 Carbon-Ti X-CarboRing chainset. A carbon cockpit combines a THM x Passoni Tibia stem with a THM x Passoni Ulna handlebar, while the build is kept featherweight by a set of Passoni P42CC carbon wheels equipped with Vittoria Corsa TLR tyres. The bike is completed with a Passoni titanium seatpost and Selle Italia SLR Tekno Passoni edition saddle.
The online auction is live and can be viewed HERE.

ROSE Bikes Presents New Gravel Bike
The BACKROAD is ready for the long distance, more off-road and great experiences
BOCHOLT, April 2020 – After the successful launch of the endurance road bike REVEAL, ROSE Bikes now presents the gravel bike BACKROAD – another model with completely new design language. The BACKROAD goes beyond the limits of the road and – in terms of riding enjoyment – it has even more to offer than its predecessor model: The frameset was designed in Germany and impresses with even more comfort and off-road capability as well as unbeatable value for money.
The high-end carbon frame of the BACKROAD achieves a frame weight of 1020 grams and, thanks to its gravel-specific frame-fork geometry, it guarantees perfect handling on tarmac, gravel and technical terrain. Straight lines, long light-refracting edges and dynamic chamfers give the bike a modern appearance. The cockpit also has this clean look: It comes with a fully integrated cable routing solution on the headset, in combination with the Redshift suspension stem. What’s more, hidden brake and gear cables facilitate fitting a handlebar bag.
Ready for the long distance
Long hours in the saddle are no problem with the BACKROAD! Low seatstays and a fully integrated clamping of the ROSE carbon seat post create record comfort values at the saddle, which were measured at 85 N/mm. The 490 mm long D-shape seat post with 8 or 25 mm setback allows for different flex levels and riding positions. The BACKROAD also stands out for great power transfer. The 1 ½“ to 1 ½“ headset paired with an impressive BB86 crankset as well as deep asymmetric chainstays transform every pedal stroke into massive speed gain and make sure the new ROSE gravel bike accelerates willingly.
More off-road, great experiences
The engineers of the bicycle company from Bocholt have given the ROSE gravel platform even more off-road capability. Frame and fork now allow for a tyre width of up to 47 mm with 700c and up to 50 mm with 650b wheels. For rougher road conditions, perfectly adapted protectors at the down tube and chainstays shield the precious frame from stone chips. Moreover, the BACKROAD has several mounting points for bottle cages, anything cages or bags for ultimate versatility – whether for a quick training ride or the epic bike packing adventure!
Specs and prices
The BACKROAD can now already be ordered in advance before the official launch on April 8 in the ROSE webshop. Prices start with 2499 euros for the BACKROAD specced with the GRX RX600 groupset by Shimano. Depending on the budget and personal preferences, customers can choose from four more complete groupsets – Sram Force 1×11, Force eTap AXS, Shimano GRX RX810 or GRX RX810 Di2. For riders who are looking for even more off-road performance, the BACKROAD AXS MULLET BUILD with Force eTap shifting components at the front and X01 Eagle mountain bike drivetrain at the rear combines the best of two worlds. What’s more, the MULLET BUILD rolls on 650b wheels. The BACKROAD is available with an extravagant “midnight laser grey” paint job as well as with ROSE’s new GC FORTY DISC ROSE gravel wheels as a limited edition: In this version, you can call the ROSE gravel bike from 4649 euros your own, choosing between the electronic shifting systems GRX RX810 or Force eTap AXS.

Hunt Wheels: USA Dreamin’
In our never-ending pursuit to provide riders with cutting-edge performance products for devoted riders, we’ve just made our next step in that journey. As of March 31st, we are honoured to be serving US riders with a dedicated US website and in-country team, us.huntbikewheels.com.
When Tom and Peter Marchment founded HUNT in 2015 they set out to make a company that creates all products with the same level of care and attention to detail. HUNT has made sure that no matter what, every decision the company made would be with the intention of being the best for our riders. Implicitly, in every step we take as employees and a company our first thought is “Every dollar we spend belonged to our customers: does this action benefit future customers?” and “If we aren’t striving to make the best wheels possible, we shouldn’t make them at all.” This is why we conduct in-depth research in both the development of both alloy and carbon wheelsets, while investing in the growth of our R&D engineering team by adding talent such as wheel-veteran Luisa Grappone (MSc Aerospace Engineering), Hunt Engineering Manager.
The HUNT Road/CX range ($369-$1579 pair) includes two category leaders in terms of aerodynamics including the 34 Aero Wide Disc, which is faster than leading competitors $2000+ wheels, and the world’s fastest disc brake road wheelset up to & including 50mm; the HUNT 48 LIMITLESS.
HUNT Gravel Beyond’s Brand Manager Josh Ibbett (6th Tour Divide 2019) led the way and ensured we were the first wheel company in the world to have a dedicated Gravel range in 2016 which now extends to ten wheelsets plus the first wheels company to have a Dynamo range, which has now grown to 4 wheelsets.
The HUNT alloy MTB wheels ($409-$539 pair) feature fast engagement hubs and high-strength 6066-T6 & 6069-T6 alloys only usually seen in competitors’ top-of-the-range wheelsets.
We have proven in the UK that this focus on how we can best serve riders and attention to detail, can build a company that started with three employees to now 35+ employees and now we are expanding our efforts in the US, an idea we previously only dreamed of doing.
We are excited to announce not only the development of a US-specific website but the establishment of our US office in Boulder, Colorado. Whilst the existing site has served thousands of US riders already, they openly share their (unfiltered) feedback with us on the independent reviews site Trustpilot, and we want to do even better. We will now be serving US riders with an even higher level of dedication and devotion. Leading the charge on this front, we’ve welcomed two individuals, Samuel Johnson & Ken Rodriguez-Clisham, to be our boots on the ground to help continue our efforts of serving US customers.

Detroit Bikes: We are having a Factory Sale!
In our wanderings around the factory we found some old inventory:
● Bikes sold as is, all bikes $500
● All bikes are small, US Made
● Very limited supplies
These bikes were made for bike shop delivery and are harder to put together than our newer inventory. If you aren’t a bike mechanic you should consider sending the bike directly to one to assemble it for you. We are always glad to help as best we can over the phone (or Facetime) but really these bikes should go to a bike shop/bike mechanic for assembly and a tune up before you take them out. It is always a good idea to have a relationship with a good local mechanic anyway – at least once a year (and before your first ride) it is a good idea with any bike to have a professional tuning.
All Factory Sale bikes are $500 and supplies are very limited. These bikes have American made chromoly frames, hand welded here in Detroit. We have small 8-speed: purple, hunter green and rose gold B-types, small 8-speed blue and silver Cortellos, and (only 4) small Candy Apple C-types.
